I work for an IT company in Pune and my motorcycle was stolen from the company’s secured parking lot, despite being watched by three security guards. Sadly, my insurance expired just a few days before the theft. My company has offered to take responsibility, but I’m worried. I bought this bike with my hard-earned money and the police investigation hasn’t yielded any results. Can I file a case against the company to hold them accountable for the theft?

You can explore filing a case against your company, but you’ll have to prove negligence on their part. Simply having security guards doesn’t automatically mean they are liable. You’ll need to show they failed to take adequate security measures to prevent the theft, which would likely involve gathering evidence and proving the security guards weren’t vigilant or the parking lot lacked sufficient security features.
