I was stopped at a police check post on February 24th, 2013. I had a beer an hour earlier, and the breathalyzer test showed I was over the limit. I admitted to having a beer and was taken to the police station. They charged me a fine of Rs. 2,000 and took my license and registration papers. They let a friend drive my car home. Now they want me to come back to the station and take me to court. What should I do? Should I plead guilty or not guilty? What happens if I’m found guilty? What are my options?

You should contact a lawyer immediately. Since the incident occurred in 2013, the statute of limitations may have passed, making prosecution unlikely. If facing charges, plead guilty and accept the penalty, as contesting could lead to a harsher punishment, including imprisonment and license suspension.
