As a young woman working late shifts in a BPO, I often find myself returning home after 11 pm. My neighbor has installed a common door in the stairwell which he locks at that time. When I ask him to open it, he starts shouting obscenities and asking inappropriate questions. Calling the police has only been a temporary fix. How can I stop him from making these offensive remarks and get him to remove the door, which prevents me from freely entering my own home?

The neighbor’s behavior is unacceptable and constitutes harassment. You can file a police complaint and seek legal recourse against him for violating your right to privacy and safety. You can also file a complaint with the housing society or landlord, requesting the removal of the door as it impedes your access to your home.
