The complainant can file a complaint against the IO for misconduct under the Police Act, 1861. They can also file a revision petition in a higher court to review the dismissal order, challenging the accuracy of the IO’s report. The higher court can then order a fresh investigation or direct the lower court to reconsider the dismissal.
