My flat in Noida, booked years ago, is finally ready, but the builder wants a hefty extra payment, more than what was agreed upon. He’s also asking for late charges. My bank is unwilling to give me the additional amount, and I’m stuck without the funds. What are my options?

You have legal recourse against the builder. You can approach the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) to file a complaint against the builder for demanding extra payment and unreasonable late charges. RERA has the authority to resolve disputes between buyers and builders and can even impose penalties on the builder.
