I’ve been an Idea Mobile customer for over a decade, using both personal and corporate plans. Recently, I faced a temporary payment issue. Despite providing my alternate number, Idea contacted my last dialed number, which was the Vice President of my company, to recover dues. This feels like a breach of privacy. Can I take any legal action against Idea for this?

Indian law emphasizes data privacy and prohibits disclosure of personal information without consent. Idea’s action of contacting your Vice President using your last dialed number, without your explicit permission, could be considered a breach of privacy. You may consider filing a complaint with the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) or taking legal action for violation of your privacy rights.
