I paid my engineering college fees in 2015 but missed the admission deadline due to a lack of facilities and unfair practices. I never attended classes because of this. The college has three branches, and I was assigned to the third one. However, they deposited my fees into the first branch’s account. I have a receipt proving this. Since I started the counselling process from my hometown but the college deposited my fees in a different city, can I file a case from my hometown?

Yes, you can file a case from your hometown. The jurisdiction for filing a case regarding breach of contract or misappropriation of funds would be where the cause of action arose, which in your case is your hometown where the counselling process began and the contract was entered into. The fact that your fees were deposited in a different branch does not change the jurisdiction.
