I bought a Yamaha FZ-FI from Yamaha Perfect Riders on Bannerghatta Road, Bangalore, back in November 2016. I had my second service done on the 25th. The next day, I set off on a 600km journey to my hometown. About 250km in, my bike suddenly stopped, and I saw smoke coming from the engine. I called the nearest Yamaha service center, and they suggested I check the engine oil. There was no oil, and I noticed a missing bolt. I took my bike to the Davangere Yamaha service center, and they said the bolt hadn’t been tightened properly and fell off during my ride. I relayed this information to Yamaha Perfect Riders, and they confirmed with Davangere that the fault was theirs. They promised to replace the damaged parts, but I’m asking for a new bike or a new engine. I’ve spoken to the service center owner, but he refuses to replace the bike. I’m frustrated and unsure what to do.

Based on Indian laws, you have a strong case for a replacement bike or engine. The faulty service by Yamaha Perfect Riders resulted in a major engine failure during your journey. You have proof of their negligence and their acknowledgement of the fault. Consider filing a consumer complaint with the consumer forum or approaching a lawyer to seek legal recourse.
