I bought a Lenovo phone on December 27th, 2016, but it stopped working on January 3rd, 2017. I immediately took it to an authorized service center, but they said the company has a policy for replacement within a week. Later, I was told that the company refused the replacement, saying 7 days had passed. This seems unfair to me. What should I do?

You have rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 1986. As the phone malfunctioned within a reasonable time of purchase, you can seek redressal from the service center or file a complaint with the consumer forum. You should have evidence of the purchase date and service center visit.
