I bought a flat from a builder after it was initially booked by a company. I made payments directly to the builder and got the flat registered in my name. Now, there’s a dispute about some extra charges the builder imposed. I’ve filed a case with the consumer forum. Can I be considered the “consumer” in this scenario, even though the flat was initially booked by a company?

Yes, you can be considered the consumer in this scenario. As you made the payments directly to the builder and the flat is registered in your name, you are the one who has a direct contractual relationship with the builder, making you the consumer in the eyes of the law.
