I booked a wooden sofa on January 17th, 2015, paying an advance. The promised delivery was the first week of February 2015. I didn’t receive any updates from the vendor, so I had to call several times. Each time, they promised a new delivery date, which never materialized. Finally, after many calls and follow-ups, they delivered the sofa on March 15th, 2015, and I paid the balance in cash. The vendor collected VAT but hasn’t provided the invoice despite my requests. Where can I file a complaint about this delay and lack of invoice?

You can file a complaint with the Consumer Forum under the Consumer Protection Act, 1986, regarding the delay in delivery and the vendor’s failure to provide an invoice. You can also file a complaint with the State Sales Tax Department regarding the vendor’s failure to provide a valid VAT invoice.
