I booked a flat in the Nestwood Mapal project through Century 21 realty, their authorized marketing partner. I paid 20% of the total cost, ₹3.6 lakhs, in four cheques. While I have a receipt for ₹3 lakhs paid to the developers, the remaining ₹0.6 lakhs paid to an investor is unrecorded. The project hasn’t begun yet. Now, I want to get my money back, but the marketing company isn’t responding. What steps should I take to get my refund?

You should issue a legal notice to Century 21 demanding the refund of ₹0.6 lakhs. If they fail to respond, you can file a consumer complaint against them and the builder under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. You should also consider filing a police complaint if you suspect fraud.
