I booked a flat in a housing project back in 2012 and paid a booking amount of ₹3,50,000. Unfortunately, the project was later abandoned, and I’ve been trying to get my money back. The builder refuses to refund me and instead wants me to find new buyers for my flat if I want my money back. What are my legal options?

Under Indian law, you have the right to claim a refund for the booking amount as the project was abandoned. You can file a consumer complaint or a civil suit against the builder seeking a refund. You are not obligated to find new buyers for your flat as a condition for getting your money back.
