I booked a flat and paid a down payment of ₹3.5 Lakhs. The builder promised me a bank loan for the rest, but I couldn’t secure it. I had to cancel the booking. Now, the builder is refusing to return my money. What can I do?

Under Indian law, you have the right to a refund of your down payment if you are unable to secure a loan as promised by the builder. You can send a legal notice demanding the refund and if the builder refuses, you can file a consumer complaint or a civil suit in court to recover your money.
