Hey everyone, I’m a first-year BSc IT student. I’m considering dropping out, but my college has a rule saying I have to pay all fees for the remaining years (second and third) if I leave. Is this legally binding? Any advice would be appreciated!

Indian law allows colleges to charge a fee for dropping out, but this fee must be reasonable and based on actual expenses incurred by the college. The college cannot arbitrarily impose the full fee for the remaining years. You should consult with your college administration and understand the specific terms of their policy and the basis for the fee.
