We’ve been running our society for a year now. We aimed to expand our reach from the state to the national level, and increased membership from 7 to 12. However, we couldn’t get everyone to sign the necessary documents at the time, so we signed on their behalf. These members haven’t raised any issues yet, but they could in the future. We have affidavits from them stating they agreed to the documents, but the signatures might not match if they decide to take legal action. What can we do to ensure the safety of our society and ourselves?

Signing documents on behalf of others without their explicit consent is a violation of Indian law and could lead to legal complications. It’s crucial to obtain proper consent from all members, even retrospectively, and have them sign the necessary documents. If possible, seek legal advice to rectify the situation and ensure future compliance with regulations.
