The shopkeeper near our market uses petrol or some kind of harmful liquid to clean rusty engine parts. The fumes are so bad they make it hard to breathe and cause nausea. We’ve asked him politely to stop, but he hasn’t listened. What can I do to get him to stop polluting the air?

You can file a complaint with the local pollution control board, citing the specific health impacts and the shopkeeper’s disregard for your request to stop. The board can investigate and take action, potentially including fines or an order to stop using harmful substances. You can also report the issue to the local municipality.
