The flour mill next door, squeezed into a tiny space with just three noisy machines, is driving everyone crazy! The constant din makes it impossible to relax, and the children’s studies are suffering. Despite complaints and even a formal letter, the owner, a local council official, just shrugs it off. He claims to have all the necessary permits and even has some old “no objection” letters from neighbours. It’s all very frustrating, and the relentless noise is starting to get to everyone’s mental well-being.

Under Indian law, you have the right to a peaceful living environment. The noise pollution from the flour mill may be considered a nuisance, and you can approach the local authorities, including the pollution control board, to address the issue. The owner’s permits and old “no objection” letters may not be a valid defense if the noise levels are exceeding permissible limits.
