However, during counselling on 07/09/2016, I was informed that my caste certificate issued in 2004 by the Tehsildar is deemed outdated. The university authorities stated they could not verify its authenticity online and requested a new certificate. The next and final counselling session is scheduled for 12/07/2016. Obtaining a new certificate in such a short time frame seems impossible.

The university’s requirement for a recent caste certificate is valid under Indian law. However, the time frame provided for obtaining a new certificate is unreasonably short. You should approach the university authorities, explain the difficulty, and request an extension or alternative verification methods.
