Respected Sir,
My grandfather, a Bengali who migrated to India from Bangladesh in 1964 under the D.N.K project, was listed as a Khtriya (general caste) on his family migration card. However, when the Odisha government issued him a land patta in 1979, he was listed as a Namasudra (scheduled caste). My true caste is Khtriya, but I obtained a scheduled caste certificate based on my grandfather’s land patta.
I recently secured a government job, submitting my scheduled caste certificate during the application process. However, I was selected under the unreserved category. Is there any risk of future complications if someone raises concerns about my caste certificate? Could this affect my employment? Kindly guide me.

Your situation presents a potential risk. While your grandfather’s migration card listed him as Khtriya, the land patta issued later classified him as Namasudra. Using this land patta to obtain a Scheduled Caste certificate raises concerns about the validity of your caste claim. If someone contests your certificate, your employment could be jeopardized. You should seek legal counsel to understand the implications and possible remedies.
