My name was legally changed after college, and I updated my passport, PAN card, and driving license accordingly. But now, the RTO in Bangalore won’t issue me a Yellow Badge for a commercial driver’s license because my name on my 10th standard marksheet is different. Even the university won’t change the name on my marksheet. Since I used the same affidavit to change my passport and PAN card, why won’t they accept it now? Can I legally challenge this decision or send a notice to the RTO? Or are they right to refuse my affidavit?

While the RTO’s requirement for a 10th standard marksheet matching your current name is understandable, their refusal to accept the affidavit used for changing your passport and PAN card might be unjustified. You can legally challenge this decision or send a notice to the RTO, citing the affidavit as evidence of your name change. You can also explore legal options for rectifying the discrepancy in your 10th standard marksheet.
