My father passed away in 1985 leaving a plot of land in Delhi. The property was transferred to me, my mother, and my brother. After my marriage in 2004, my mother and brother confined me at home and pressured me to sign some documents they claimed were fixed deposits. They took me to an office, beat me, and deprived me of food for several days. I managed to escape and have been living with my husband since then. Recently, I received a notice from Tis Hazari court. It seems my mother filed a case against DDA because they issued a conveyance deed in our names. She had me sign a relinquishment deed which I was unaware of. Now she wants my name removed from the conveyance deed. What are my rights in this situation?

You have the right to challenge the relinquishment deed as it was obtained under duress and coercion. You can also file a case against your mother for fraud and illegal confinement.
