My family bought a 200 square yard plot in Hyderabad back in 1993. We’ve always maintained it, but last year we found someone building on it! We checked the records and discovered five registrations between 2006 and 2015, even though our own 2008 record showed nothing. It seems someone’s trying to grab our land, even a retired registrar is involved!
We hoped a relative could help, but after a year nothing has changed. They’ve divided our plot into 100-yard pieces, even built a small building on one! What can I do to reclaim our land?

You have a strong case for reclaiming your land based on your 1993 purchase and continuous possession. File a civil suit for “recovery of possession” against the encroacher and all those involved in the fraudulent registrations. You can also file a police complaint alleging forgery and criminal trespass.
