I’m a retired government employee, having served as a Postal Assistant after clearing the All India Postal Examination. After about a year, I was terminated alongside roughly 1500 colleagues across five states, citing temporary service rules. We appealed to the CAT and won in several states, but the Department of Posts challenged the decision in one High Court and prevailed. Now, the state where we lost in the High Court has appealed to the Supreme Court, but our case is still pending before the CAT in other states. Could we appeal directly to the Supreme Court, supporting the state that lost in the High Court? Additionally, could you suggest top lawyers specializing in employee-related civil matters in the Supreme Court?

As a retired government employee, you cannot directly appeal to the Supreme Court in this matter. You can only appeal after the High Court decision in your state is finalized. Additionally, the pending CAT cases in other states need to be resolved. Seeking legal advice from a senior advocate specializing in service matters before the Supreme Court is advisable.
