Hey, I’m from Hyderabad. A friend borrowed my credit card back in 2014 for a small expense, but ended up using the whole limit without telling me. The card got blocked, and though he paid some of it later, he hasn’t paid the remaining amount for the last 10 months. Now, the card company is contacting me. Any advice on how to handle this?

You are legally responsible for the entire outstanding balance on your credit card, even if it was used by someone else without your consent. You should immediately contact the card company and explain the situation. They might consider your case if you can prove the friend’s unauthorized use, but you are still primarily liable. You may also need to pursue legal action against your friend to recover the unpaid amount.
