Being a second-year BBA LLB student at Symbiosis Law College in Noida, I was hospitalized for a month and couldn’t attend classes. Sadly, my college director isn’t granting me attendance on medical grounds. This means I’ll have a semester backlog and can’t even take my exams due to low attendance. Is there any UGC guideline or other law that protects my right to get attendance for medical leave?
Best Answer
The UGC Guidelines on Attendance require colleges to allow students to make up for missed classes due to medical reasons with a valid medical certificate. The Symbiosis Law College, as a UGC-recognized institution, should adhere to these guidelines and grant you attendance for your medical leave. You can approach the college authorities again citing the UGC Guidelines and your medical certificate.
