My wife and I are separated, and I give her cheques every month for our son’s expenses. She always cashes them. Recently, I lost my bag with some signed, blank cheques in it. I immediately told the bank, and they cancelled all the old cheques. I informed my wife, but she still tried to cash them, and they bounced because I was out of the country. Now, she’s filed a cheque bounce case against me. What can I do?

You can file a police complaint against your wife for attempting to encash cancelled cheques. You can also file a counter-case against her for malicious prosecution and present evidence of the cancelled cheques and your communication informing her about it. Since the cheques were signed but blank, you can also claim that she fraudulently filled them and attempted to cash them.
