You can file a legal notice demanding payment within a reasonable timeframe. If the cheque is still dishonored, you can file a criminal complaint under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881. This will initiate legal proceedings against the issuer, potentially leading to imprisonment or a fine.
