My Intellectual Property case filed in Tirupati Civil Court in 2009 was dismissed in December 2016 because I hadn’t filed my income tax returns. I had given three blank cheques to someone in 2008, but the accounts are now closed. If they try to deposit these cheques, could they file a cheque bounce case against me? If so, can I appeal against the IP dismissal in the District Court, even though the time limit may have passed? What are my options?

While the dismissal of your Intellectual Property case in 2016 due to non-filing of tax returns is unlikely to be directly challenged now, the old cheques could be a potential issue. You should consult a lawyer immediately to explore options for stopping payment on those cheques and to assess if any legal recourse is available regarding the dismissed IP case.
