If a cheque issued by a broker for ₹45,000 bounces, you have recourse under the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881. You can file a criminal complaint and initiate legal proceedings against the broker for dishonoring the cheque, seeking recovery of the amount, compensation for loss and legal costs.
