I sold goods worth ₹5 lakh to someone and got a written agreement on stamp paper for payment within 30 days. It’s been three months, and he’s not paying. Five of his cheques worth ₹5 lakh have bounced. What should I do now?

You can file a criminal complaint under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act for the bounced cheques. You can also file a civil suit for recovery of the ₹5 lakh amount based on the agreement on stamp paper. It is advisable to consult a lawyer for specific legal advice.
