I was medically discharged from the Indian Air Force in 1976 due to a condition deemed neither service-related nor aggravated by service. I’m a former NDA cadet from the pilots’ branch and received only invalidment gratuity. Sadly, I was not provided with my medical board papers. Prior to my commissioning in 1972, and even afterwards, I had no pre-existing disabilities. My only medical incident was a fainting episode on March 30, 1972, at Air Force Station Kumbhigram, Mizoram, following an air maintenance sortie. Kumbhigram was a declared war zone until March 31, 1972. I’ve been seeking answers from the Air Chief for the past two years, but haven’t received any response. Could you please offer some advice?

You have a strong case for legal action. The builder’s refusal to refund the full amount, citing company policy, is likely invalid. You can file a consumer complaint with the consumer forum, seeking full refund with interest. You can also explore options like filing a civil suit for breach of contract and recovery of the remaining amount.
