What Are The Types Of Driving Licence In India?


Learner’s license – A temporary license issued before obtaining a permanent license.


Permanent driving license – Issued after successfully passing the driving test.


Commercial driving license – Required for driving commercial vehicles such as taxis, trucks, and buses.


International driving permit – Enables Indian drivers to drive legally in foreign countries.

Steps To Apply For A Permanent Driving License


Apply for a permanent license after 30 days (and within six months) of receiving the learner’s license.


Schedule a driving test appointment at the RTO.


Appear for the driving test, where an RTO officer will assess your driving skills.


Upon successfully passing the test, the permanent driving license is issued.
