I invested in the Homested Sohna Sector 215 project about two years ago. The project was soft launched, and I paid ₹9.5 lakhs for a 2 BHK apartment. However, the project hasn’t officially launched yet. Homested says they will refund my money without interest and provide a post-dated check four months after submitting my refund application. This means I’ll have to wait another six months to get my money back. Is it possible for me to get my money refunded with interest? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Under Indian law, you are entitled to a refund with interest if the builder fails to complete the project within the stipulated time frame. You can explore options like filing a complaint with the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) or approaching consumer courts to demand a refund with interest.
