The Delhi High Court upheld the acquittal of a wife and her family members in a case alleging abetment of the husband’s suicide. Justice Neena Bansal Krishna ruled that no clear evidence supported the charges. The husband may have been unhappy in the marriage, but no act of abetment was proven. Vague claims that the wife threatened to implicate him in a false dowry case were not backed by specific incidents or dates. The Court found no credible testimony from the deceased’s parents to establish harassment. In fact, the wife had allegedly tried to harm herself multiple times, showing her own mental distress. The Court noted that none of her actions were reported to the police earlier. The suicide note lacked a date and did not mention any clear reason or recent provocation.

It failed to show any direct involvement of the wife or her family in encouraging the suicide. With no evidence of instigation, the Court dismissed the appeal and confirmed the trial court’s acquittal.
