  2. The applicant should not have any criminal record or pending cases.

1. Proof of Identity – Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, PAN Card, or any government-issued ID.
2. Proof of Address – Aadhaar Card, Utility Bill, Bank Statement, or Rent Agreement.
3. Proof of Date of Birth – Birth Certificate, School Leaving Certificate, or Matriculation Certificate.
4. Annexure F – A verification certificate from a Gazetted Officer.
5. Annexure I – Self-declaration stating the urgency of the application.
6. Old Passport (if applicable) – Required for renewal or reissue.

What Are the Steps to Apply for a Passport Under the Tatkal Scheme?

  1. Visit the official Passport Seva website (www.passportindia.gov.in).
  2. Create a login ID or sign in if you already have an account.
  3. Select “Tatkal” as the application type and fill in the required details.
  4. Upload the necessary documents and submit the form.
  5. Pay the Tatkal processing fee online through credit/debit card, net banking, or UPI.
  6. Tatkal fees vary based on passport type: Fresh or Reissue of 36-page Passport – ₹3,500, Fresh or Reissue of 60-page Passport – ₹4,000
  7. Book an appointment at the nearest Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) or Regional Passport Office (RPO).
  8. Choose the earliest available date for processing.
  9. Carry original documents along with self-attested copies
    Provide biometric data (fingerprints and photograph).
  10. Submit the verification certificate (Annexure F) and declaration form (Annexure I).
  11. In some cases, police verification is conducted after passport issuance.
  12. If required before issuance, the process may take additional time.
  13. Once approved, the passport is printed and dispatched within 1-3 working days.
  14. Applicants can track the status online using the application reference number.
